Road Bulletins
Brad Newton reported on: Aug 31, 2025
The road is overall in great condition, though some sections are bumpy where heavier traffic has exposed larger rocks. Expect washboarding, loose debris, and a few steep stretches. 4WD vehicles will have no problems at all. 2WD vehicles with good tires could make it, but you may be punishing your vehicle depending on its capability. There is also lots of active logging in the area, so be prepared to encounter industrial traffic.

Some ruts that a low clearance vehicle may struggle with, and lots of ungraveled sections that would be slick when wet. I expect that the grader we saw working down lower will make it up there soon and improve the condition, it is my understanding that it is usually 2wd accessible.

Blocked by avalanche debris pile at 30.5 km on the Akolkolex-Crawford system (Branch 11 appears to be the current mainline). Snow on road starts soon after, but it appears that at some point in the winter it may have been plowed as the snow is much shallower on the road and there are obvious cut banks.
