Edit: I was wrong, it’s being turned into a campground and will open in March 2026 according to the site’s Facebook account

Came here to find the gate open for the first time in years, went down and the road was buttery smooth, then when I rounded the corner at the bottom I realized why, it looks like people live here now, there’s numerous trailers set up permanently, a couple new buildings, and what looked like construction equipment. Quickly turned around and left cause I felt like I was somewhere I wasn’t supposed to be. While st the start of Simms FSR I saw about 4-5 average cars and SUVs on street tires head down which I’m guessing are some of the residents and why the gate was open.
