bridges are still in, the bridge approaches are getting steep and showing signs of degradation.

Hey Greg, is there a local name for this road other than "Amend 1"? or any signage you saw on the way in?
There is a yellow Caledonia Mt. sign in a tree at the turnoff/start of the road. Haven't heard of any local names for the road.
