Cochran Creek FSR - Bulletin
Adam Ess reported on: Jul 18, 2026
We biked through Little Elk Pass from Palliser-Albert rec (entered Cochran via obscured "Branch A", just beyond the first bridge in Cochran), and a large washout across the road has formed from a side creek. I've marked this as impassable to vehicles - but two wheelers (and quads?) can get through. I believe it was at this location, as we were travelling E-W, and it was shortly past the bridge, with a bend in the road soon after.
Distance Travelled:
2.66 km

Hi there. You were able to pass through on Branch A?? There was a large avy debris close to where you would connect Branch A to little elk. I cut out a lot of blowdown coming from the Cochrane FSR. Hit one avy pile and was able to cut a go around but the second was massive. Maybe it’s been cleared. I was there 6 weeks ago

All three slide paths up "Branch A" (heading up to Little Elk, out of Cochran) have been cleared as of August 2026
I've added in the missing branch road here: https://backroadstatus.com/road/sra-6a67aa3ef253e20fcf61fa20. Let me know if you come across any other missing roads and I can easily add them in!
