First bit of the road is actually AWDable, probably up to a little into the switchbacks. Quite tight, though (tree trunks, not just alders/bush), a fallen log overhead that barely cleared a 3rd gen grand vitara, and lots of embedded boulders in the road bed

Many switchbacks required a 3 point turn, and as you get higher, the road is rougher, with larger embedded boulders, and a couple mild crawling sections on large rock. Trail forks to go to upper saddle and the northern peak. both are in similar shape. hard to say an AWD technically can't make it, but it would be impressive and unlikely.
