The road up to the lake proper is pretty good this summer despite a wet July; a little wet in spots today, but mostly because a big thunderstorm the night before had left piles of hail in a few spots which were melting. Fine for any vehicle if you want to dodge potholes badly enough.

Past the lake turnoff heads downhill, a soft mud road and steep in spots - bring an anchor and leave the camper further back. A whole beaver society having emerged at km27.5, that's probably the end of the road for the less committed tourist.

actually Bearhole Lake Road. A high-quality maintained FSR by NEBC standards, which is to say it's all potholes and dust when dry, potholes and mud when wet, and usually you'll alternate between the two every couple of minutes.
