Road in good shape for any capable 4wd vehicle. Drove right up to where the road bends West toward a bridge in my Sub Forester. There was some mud and pot holes but no major waterbars or other obstacles that would require 4×4. Active heli logging seems to be the reason the road was spruced up, and may complicate access if work is underway.
Road washout fixed, could likely keep driving up branch 17 but we parked here
We were able to drive all the way to the junction with Branch 17 (3.75km mark) in a cross trek without a issue. A few water bars required picking a good line, but otherwise doable in an AWD car with a bit of clearance. After the junction the road gets overgrown with alders, but the road bed is largely intact until the creek crossing at the 4.5km mark. While there wasn't evidence of anyone driving up to this point, I think someone who didn't care about their paint job could drive to the creek. At the creek crossing the bridge was out and the road gets extremely overgrown beyond this point.
