FORD MOUNTAIN - Bulletin
Heath Anderson reported on: Jun 08, 2024
First washout 1km (2nd switchback). This one may have the awd medium clearance vehicles putting a wheel in the air.
This one just 20m past the first.
Dry/loose and steep section at 1.6km. 5th switchback.
Last major washout, this one at 1.9km. 6th switchback.
One of the narrower sections, hope you like pinstripes.
Road as definitely seen better days. Few large washouts to compete with, Tacomas and Jeeps will be able to walk though them. Medium clearance awd vehicles may need a spotter and some nerves of steel. Luckily the hardest washout is the first. If you can make it past there you can probably make it all the way. If not there is a large pullout at 500m.

Should also add. A lot of maps show 3.5km as the end of the road and the Ford Mountain trail start. The road shown here is correct and can be driven up 4.2km or 1070m.
In this section there is a washout at 4km. Didn’t get a photo but if you made all the other ones you can do this one too. Lots of parking at the true trailhead.
