Road is degraded with loose rocks and some water bars. It is moderately steep. 4WD recommended. However, the views are amazing!

First 600m are the worse - 4WD and HC needed to pass through that stretch of loose rocks of different sizes.
After it - as described in the previous report.
There is a washout getting developed around 2km.

For access to Mount Ling via West Ridge. Waterbars show up right away, there must have been at least 30 of them and they were pretty deep and some had steep walls. Short wheel base will be nice. The road is built thru sand it seems and the water is eating away at it quite easily. I can't see it lasting that many winters. 1994 Toyota pickup made it to 1200m with using 4lo the odd time but mainly just 4wd. If you plan to get to 1200m make sure you have good tires and 4wd. Aside from the waterbars, road bed was in good shape.
