Road Bulletins
The washout at km 36 has seen minor work to get ATVs across. Someone might be able to get a high clearance 4x4 across but there are several other tough washouts between km 36 - 38 that makes it impractical for vehicles to try to go further.
The Great Divide Trail Association does plan to restore this road to Cairnes Creek (km 41) in spring 2026 to install a cable car. So the road may be driveable in summer 2026 but is likely to wash out at this gully again the next spring.

Washout at KM 36 and a large deep swale about 200m north makes it impassible to vehicles, but still accessible to foot, bikes, horses and ATV’s
Road is IMPASSIBLE at the first big drainage after the first bridge over Blaeberry - HUGE scoured washout. Stay on the RIGHT side of the fork at the big field where everyone camps, don't go over the first big bridge across river. OHVs would work to get through even. No signage at start of road indicating this damage. End of August 2023 "Canfor" logging removed the Cairnes rec bridge - can't cross the Blaeberry beyond now. Amiskwi bridge is staying. With the Cairnes bridge removed, they won't be doing road maintenance higher up, so seasonal washouts will become an issue. Good condition to the end currently as of posting date.
