Upper part of the road to the Thunder Mountain fire tower. Some potholes and wet sections throughout but maintained and generally not a bad road in the main. The last couple of hundred meters once you actually turn off to go up to the tower is not exactly a proper road, more like a bedrock canyon with most of the soil eroded off; it's steep, but mostly fairly smooth and not a difficult climb if you have some clearance, however the couple of awkward cross-ditches and gullies (inc. one right at the beginning) will probably put off the sports cars and campers. Not a difficult walk up in that case, though, and great views.
