In way better shape than any road this far out has any right to be, I can only assume due to timber salvage efforts. A1 shape, some rattly bumps along Carpenter lake to the tunnel.
Smooth all the way. Loose gravel. No potholes. Steep in places. Hairpin turns. Some sections quite wide. Saw 2 snow plows working on a Sunday. Also there was no snow, so not sure where they came from. Possibly clearing rockfall as it looked like the ground was scraped?
