Road Bulletins
Came in from North Main. Trail is in great shape from there to the bridge thats been removed at 14.23 Km.
Approached from the East side. Gate opened at 15km mark with good trail conditions down the hill. At the 14km mark, the road has been excavated out and blocked with a large timber. Recommend brining chains for the snow, as the grade is quite steep.
The KM markers run the opposite direction to this site, tried to use this road as a shortcut to Sombrio but after crossing a couple small easy slides road was washed out at 44.495739,-124.201508, ~2' deep channel carved down the middle of the road. There was an excavator & rock truck in the area so it might be fixed soon.
Road is in great condition. Very smooth - better than some streets in Vancouver, bc. A little narrow between 0 and roughly 7 km, but the brush is mostly soft growth that won’t scratch the side of your vehicle.
2wd, makes for a good connection back to the highway after/before San Juan peak
