The road was snow covered for us either way, but hiking up you could easily see the road has been severely washed out a short way up.

There’s a decent washout almost immediately from the start and a very large water bar. I was able to drive beyond that in a Tacoma and get another 500m up the road. After that there’s an impassible section of washout. The road was in okay condition beyond that, but not accessible in a normal high clearance 4x4.
