Once you leave the Hixon Creek FSR and start up the Norton Creek FSR for the first little bit the road is in good shape as they have machinery up there and are doing work on it, I think maybe for a gas pipeline. Eventually the road then turns into basically an old creek bed with large loose rocks for a majority of the trip. My stock 1994 Toyota pickup with 31inch tires made it to 610m or 5min walking of Norton Lake where there was 1 very steep creek drainage. My all terrain tires are pretty bald so I didn't chance it but there was a lifted Chevy SUV on 34 inch tires at the lake. Be prepared for a slow bumpy ride to get to the lake but it's doable.
