Up to the switchbacks (~1km in) road is passable in any vehicle. From here there are some short but sharp cross ditches that may stop sedans (unless you floor it). Some clearance recommended.

The spur is drivable in a AWD to the very end. There is room for 4-5 car parking and more down the road.

No change since Jeff's report. Road is in great shape and now snow free to over 1,100m.

we use s-426 for getting the cutlock to climb Carnival peak, the FSR is in good condition for most SUV with 4wd/awd, only 1&2 spots with loose gravel but not big issue.

This road continually goes higher than it shows on map, we drove all the way to the end elevation is about 1140m (very close to the little lake that shows on the map)

there is a new branch goes to the right at 1100m elevation which doesn't lead to our objective.
