Starts out easy, if very much only one vehicle wide. few cross ditches before the large washout marked as a 4x4 bypass on the map. IMO it isn't that bad, a good crossover can definitely do it. it's deep but gentle, and the climb out is "only steep", boulders are not big, wheels should stay on the ground. The road goes on in similar conditions as before for a kilometre, maybe 2 (hard to remember).

after that, the boulders and ruts get bigger+deeper, respectively. here the best crossovers (bronco sport badlands, compass/cherokee trailhawk/upland) could probably make it with a skilled driver, otherwise I would say proper 4x4 is useful to be able to take it slow and avoid crunching your underbody

Generally similar to previous summer reports.

The road is quite rocky, some sharp some smooth. Not the worst I've seen. I don't think I'd recommend this to stock SUV's. But depends on how much you want it.

Bridge bypass still there.

Snow starts to cover the road around KM7 but wasn't bad to drive on.
The exit out of the creek at KM8 was wicked slick and I had to winch out in order to get up and over.
I then had to throw on chains to make it up the hill at KM10.
I ended up parking at KM10.5 where the road starts to become more like a creek bed and driving was becoming slower than skinning.

This road starts off nice coming off the new Borden FSR. You first come across a small, but very steep cross ditch. Next is the downed bridge which is an easy entry and a steep exit out of the creek. Then the alder starts to get thicker. Lastly to finish off the rest of your drive to the trailhead it feels like driving up a river bed with how big and loose the rock is. The road ultimately comes to a stop for vehicles with a large washout but dirt bikes can easily get through.

As bad as last year, but no worse. Drove all the way to the end with stock Jeep Rubicon. Once past the washout section, conditions improve somewhat. Do not attempt with SUV or AWD with less than 10 in clearance beyond 1.5km from the broken bridge.

Drove as far as the washed out bridge at the 8km mark (~3.5km from the New Bordern FSR junction). The 4x4 bypass still look feasible, however there was a thick layer of frost on the steepest section so we opted to just park before the bridge. The condition of the road is largely unchanged from previous reports although continuous snow now starts at ~1100m.

Drove the creek bypass and up to 1140m in a Subaru Forester Wilderness with a very bold driver (not me). So it's possible...

Made it to the "new trailhead" (where there are boulders blocking the road) in my unlifted 4runner on 31's. Creek bypass is in good shape. Past the bypass the road has some large loose rocks making for slow going, but provided no major issues

New Borden FSR from Chilliwack Lake Road connects to Borden FSR at 4.8km (780m). Collapsed bridge at 7.5km (~920m). Vehicle bypass on the left of the collapsed bridge. The creek is currently extremely low and barely flowing through the bypass. 2.5km past the bridge there is a 1km stretch of very rough, rutted out road. HC 4x4 recommended from here to avoid damage. Parking at this point is a 2.5km walk to the TH. Road is not passable by vehicles at 11.7km (~1400m) dirt bikes can easily continue. Less than 1km to McGuire summit from final vehicle parking area.

Bridge crossing Borden creek at ~920m is washed out but can be driven across with a high clearance 4x4. The remainder of the road is in terrible shape but can and has been driven by a very clearance 4x4 with patience and accepting likely scrapes and bumps along the way. Recommended to start from New Borden FSR where good clearance AWD can make it to the washouts around 600m.
