Road is improved for salvage logging up to 990 vertical meters, only about 200 vertical meters shy of the lookout site. Unfortunately, the upper sections of the improved road have had small but very annoying waterbars cut in, which slows things down a lot. From 990 meters to the lookout site is heavily rutted and rough, but nothing a high-clearance 4x4 can't take on with some careful driving.

Also, per this post (https://www.facebook.com/groups/4wdabc/permalink/10161893149446009), the wilderness ranch has put up a locked gate on the section of road that goes through their property. That section of road that runs through the property they own, so the gate is legal. It was put up after one of the loggers ran over and killed one of the ranch's dogs. Take the 'Nahatlatch Fire Road Bypass' to get around this, as it skirts around the property. I'm unsure of its conditions, but I imagine it can't be too bad since it is being used for active logging.
