Road Bulletins
Bridge work around 10km mark; the workers did not let us through. They said the road should be open the next day, May 9th 2025. The road was passable in a Jeep, but has a lot of sharp rocks. AT tires recommended.
They have recently fixed up the Maisal FSR. The lock has been cut at the valley bottom at the bridge that cross the Chehalis River. They are still logging in the area so it's always a gamble. Any car with good AT tires can make it up to the 5km bridge, no waterbars, just sharp jagged rocks that occur with freshly graded FSR's. It's abit steep at times so could be hard on some cars transmissions. No waterbars.
[From Tiger L] - The Chehalis FSR is in a very good shape, but Maisel FSR does require a 4X4 though there are no water bars. We managed to drive our 4Runner up to 9ish kilometers mark @ 680m elevation, where snow started.
I"m giving it a somewhat degraded rating because we did manage to get a Honda CRV about 9km up it or around 650m elevation. A 4x4 HC could maybe go a tiny bit further until it starts going to shit. We dirtbiked the full length of this road to the end until it changes name into another branch which I will update. This branch had more than a few things that would stop a truck after we parked.
