Up to the lower Brandywine trail at 7.7 km the roadbed is loose and rough on most hills so AWD is likely needed. Beyond this the alders gradually close in, and water bars begin. The road becomes essentially blocked by alders around the 9km mark but is walkable to the end.
The road is plowed until ~5.5km where the turn off for the upper spur and hiking trails are. A little icy in spots but otherwise manageable. We didn't drive beyond the parking lot, so can't comment on the condition
