Road Bulletins
Footbridge over Ashlu is still there and seems unchanged from previous reports. I expect a heavy snowfall is far more likely to bring it down than one human walking across.
Upper half of road still sucks with lots of alder bashing.
Upper half of road still sucks with lots of alder bashing.
Road is not drivable (obviously). In terms of hiking, from the deteriorating bridge to 700m the road is fine. BW1 or less. From 700m to 950m it varies up to BW3+. Fortunately it is MOSTLY alder, not too much devils club. Enjoy.
this road after crossing the bridge is very overgrown and hard to follow. if you are planning to follow it for Chimai or further mtns, expecting lots of alder fighting
Road is washed out from Ashlu Main but kayakers have flagged a trail down to the old bridge. The bridge across the Ashlu is down to just two support beams but still ok for foot traffic. Road quickly becomes overgrown on far side of the river.
