Road Bulletins

Road is in OK condition up to the Slesse Memorial Trailhead. Some potholes for the first KM, and a small washout just after KM 4 that anything with at least moderate clearance will have no issue with. KM 4-5 gets a bit brushy, but its not going to damage your car in any way.

After KM5 is where the fun begins. KM 5-6 is like driving up a creek bed. The rocks aren't too large, its just stupid bumpy. At KM~6.25 there is a 20M long rock crawling section where the rocks are much bigger than before, some good clearance would help here. After this, the road gets a lot more grown in and quite scratchy. However, the road base is very smooth in this section. At KM7 there's a nice clearing to park a couple vehicles. In all reality, unless you enjoy 4x4 driving like I do. There is little to no point in driving beyond the Slesse Memorial Trailhead if accessing the Mt. Rexford Trailhead. I don't think it saves much, if any time or effort.

The road didn't seem to be in bad shape. We went in a lifted Honda CRV and it was a breeze. I think any AWD SUV type of vehicle could it make to the Slesse TH. We parked here as we weren't sure how much further we could've made it. I think we could've gone 1-2km further but it wasnt a big deal

Essentially the same as my previous report. Crossover vehicles will should have no trouble getting to the Slesse Memorial Trailhead. The roughest section is KM3.5 around the new cutblock. Immediately after the trailhead the road is HC 4x4 and very rough.

Didn't go far on this road but it was getting rough pretty quick

This road is kinda rough, but nothing to stop a crossover type vehicle up to the Slesse memorial trailhead. The first KM or 2 is smooth, put pothole ridden. Expect some slow and bumpy sections due to loose rock as well as a couple large puddles. Plenty of parking at the Slesse trailhead.

After the trailhead is where it gets nasty. There isnt anything particularly challenging its just pretty rough. The first 500m or so is like driving up a riverbed. Large rock make for a really bumpy and slow drive. After this its followed by thick alder, then to finish it off another short riverbed section. I parked at the intersection with NE1200 where there is an opening with parking for 4 vehicles easily. I did not notice any good place to pull over and park between the Slesse trailhead and where I parked. So if you decide to go up this way you pretty much have to all the way to where I did.

Drove to about the 7km mark well past the slesse memorial trailhead. Road after the slesse trailhead is heavily eroded and requires 4wd HC. Theres an opening to park/easily turn around at 7km where the road branches again.

[From Sheri Cormier] - road is driveable all the way up to the slesse memorial trail head. Minimal snow visible on the road.

The road is in great condition and easily driveable to the 5.8km mark. There is one big water bar about 2-300m before the road ends, so one could park there if there vehicle was not able to make it through.

Made it up to Slesse / Nesakwatch trailhead in an SUV and saw other small low clearance vehicles parked just before the last washout. Road is in pretty good condition and seems to have been recently repaired.
