Gate was closed, but not latched or locked. Just enough room to turn around at gate.

There is a new gate (or the old moved a bit further up) installed just before 24km mark - on Meager CR S (right after a fork to Perkins) .
It was unlocked, so we proceeded further.
Had to move some new rocks to make a clear pass in couple of spots - overall road is drivable with the caution and with understanding the risk of getting stuck due to a new slide or the gate being locked.

Road starts in good condition, but then after the ~4km mark there's lots of fallen rock and boulders partially blocking the road. There was clearly tire marks driving around the obstacles all the way to the end, but you'd need to be a confident driver in a capable vehicle. Mostly snow-free; patchy snow after ~7.5km mark that's melting fast.

The gate is occasionally open, that being said this area is dangerous for rock slides and has a history of major geological instability. There is debris and rockfall from the cliffs above on to the road. It is in fact drivable many KM up, but it is officially closed and a fine of several hundred dollars could be issued if caught by a warden etc

Obviously is behind a permanently closed gate, but the road generally is in good condition with some places with large avoidable rockfall on the road which indicates more could come down. It is bikeable but not especially fun unless it's an e-bike as some of the climbs are steep with loose rock. Bit of a hiking grind to get to the Harrison hut approach.
