Road Description

A hyrdo project resides at the end of this road as well as a pumice mine, indicating access should remain in relatively good shape for the future. However timing the gate is often tricky.

Road Bulletins

Gate at 9km was open and road was in excellent condition at least as far as 40km

Drove Upper Lillooet until ~1km from Keyhole. Ran into snow at this point, drivable w/ a Jeep but slow going. Will be all melted out very soon. Grading going on near the beginning and roadside brush clearing being done near the Boulder creek hydro site. In very good condition
Andrea Tate reported on: Nov 03, 2024
Dry conditions with lots of potholes until the Hurley turn off. Did not drive further.
Steven Song reported on: May 20, 2024
New gate at around 17 km open . Otherwise cruise to 49 km in 2WD conditions. Note that somewhere around 40 km do not follow Gaia’s map but stick to the mainline.

A look at the wash out
That appears to be the 5km sign.
[From SouthChilton.ca] - the road is washed out at the 5km mark after the heavy flooding. This is before the Hurley River FSR turn off and so the Hurley is not accessible at the moment. Repair time is unknown, but there are hyrdo projects further up river so it will likely be repaired once the flooding subsides.

[From Laurent Schoenacker] - road was in good condition up to the north creek area at kilometer 17. However, on my way back I came across the gate to access the lower lillooet fsr at the hurley junction being locked! I was trapped! The sign said road closed due to flooding but i did not see any sign of flooding . Luckily some truck showed up and had the means to open the gate and get us both out.
