Road Description
Road is permanently gated at the 5KM mark due to the water treatment facility located at ~6km. The 4WD club apparently has access: https://4wdabc.ca/our-projects/key-programs/norrish/ but you must be a member.
Road Bulletins
[From Paul B] - Heads up for Norrish Creek, the gate is closed and locked again, it's been open all summer.
The gate at 5 km is still open. The road was frozen in the morning, with some snow accumulation beyond 12 km.
[Tiger Lu] - We drove along Norrish Creek FSR, which is good for 2WD, for around 12 kilometers before turning to Hanson Creek FSR. Road is snow free up to this point
[From JR Goss] - Norrish yesterday, snow not great but manageable. See: https://www.facebook.com/groups/4wdabc/permalink/10159958303731009/ for more details
Gate was open on January 1, 2024. We read a post on the 4wdabc Facebook group that it has been broken for a while and they're waiting for parts. Road is in good condition with some potholes up to the Hanson Creek FSR turnoff. Probably doable in a sedan.
$30 4WDABC membership gets you the gate code, road was in good condition & doable in almost any vehicle to the Hanson Creek turnoff (for DeRoche Mountain) at least.
