We drove up on Sunday, June 14, 2026. Our Pontiac Vibe made it up to the gate at the junction of BR2500 and BR2510. That gate is locked. The road is in good condition up to the gate. Whatever trees that were on the road have been cleared.
The road surface looks to be unchanged as far as we drove, which was to the first of the two bridges over Charles Creek. However, just under 1.5 KMs up, there is a fairly large Western Hemlock tree (20-22 inch diameter) that broke mid-trunk and fell across the road. I was able to make a JUST wide enough for a crossover SUV pathway through it before my saw hit a rock and totally dulled the chain however, a truck or larger, wider SUV may not fit, so this should be widened more. Unfortunately at the first of the two bridges over Charles Creek on this road, only 500 meters further ahead, are two fallen trees that fell onto the bridge blocking it (with the one even taking out part of the railing). With my chain dulled, I couldn't clear these, but they are much smaller trees, so they shouldn't be terribly difficult to clear. I also sent to drone ahead to the second bridge with the waterfall, and can confirm the road is obstruction free up to that point. No idea beyond that point though
In good condition to the junction before KM3.5 where I turned left leaving this road. Did not explore beyond. Thanks to Andrew for clearing the trees at the bridge, still lots of free firewood available!
It's getting abit rough with fallen rocks and driving thru small creeks. After leaving Cognurb Creek main FSR you can only drive this road 2.70km before 4 trees have fallen on the bridge. I'm sure they will get cut soon but the first 2 are kinda large.
